Cosmos Labs & Hypha Renew Testnet Incentives Program Through the End of 2025
Together with Hypha Co-op, we have renewed the Testnet Incentives Program through the end of 2025. The program coordinates and incentivizes mainnet validators to run Cosmos Hub testnet nodes, performing continuous tests and rewarding them for their uptime.
The Hub’s testnet is key in performing safe coordinated chain upgrades, and materially testing software before it hits production in the Cosmos Hub main chain. We are very excited to continue our partnership with Hypha here, who has been fundamental in running the program.
Together with this renewal and funding of the program, we are bringing some optimizations to its operations.
Eligibility Requirements That Center Around the Hub
The criteria used to determine the participants and success of the program, as well as the metrics that we now monitor are exclusively Cosmos Hub oriented.
- Cosmos Hub Uptime
- Provider Uptime
These two metrics replace some previously used metrics, such as “Consumer Chain Uptime”.
The Cosmos Labs team and Foundation have also been openly implementing and improving security practices in the management of software, and providers since early this year – when Asymmetric joined as our new security vendor.
Due to that, we have also updated our validator onboarding and KYC requirements. Any participant renewing with the program will be required to re-onboard.
